Core open science practices in major medical journals: development of an automatized tool based on a Large Language Model

“The importance of actively monitoring these practices has been recognized at the highest levels of scientific governance. The Hong Kong Principles advocate for researchers to be evaluated based on the transparency and openness of their work. UNESCO’s 2021 Recommendation on Open Science and the G7 Science, echoed by initiatives like the Open Science Monitoring Initiative (OSMI), have similarly underscored monitoring as a priority. A consensus is also emerging on which practices should be tracked: a core set of 19 open science practices has been proposed as reference indicators for systematic monitoring in biomedicine, based on a Delphi study.”
